On the 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act, there’s still work to be done to increase disability employment
This year marked the 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act, a landmark legislation that has become the foundation of federal protection for Americans with disabilities. President Biden reflected on both the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans With Disability Act in his NDEAM remarks, acknowledging that while these milestones are critical, there is more work to be done.
50 years later, people with disabilities still face barriers to entry and remain without gainful employment at much higher rates than the national average.
