Announcing the Alliance for Expanding America’s Workforce
The Alliance for Expanding America’s Workforce (AEAW) began its work at SourceAmerica’s XForce Conference in May. Founding members Didlake, GCE, Melwood, ServiceSource and TVS took the stage to discuss the Alliance and how this group intends to lead and inform the modernization of policy initiatives that increase inclusive, equitable, and competitive employment for people with disabilities.
The AEAW is built on three overarching principles: protect the AbilityOne Program’s mission, modernize and expand the AbilityOne program, and strengthen additional levers within federal procurement policy that create greater employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
We are dedicated to leading the modernization and expansion of federal procurement and government hiring initiatives to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Federal procurement is a powerful socio-economic tool used every day to incentivize behavior and increase the economic stability of disadvantaged populations. This powerful tool should be maximized to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The AEAW is an inclusive voice for this community, and will coordinate efforts to develop, modernize and expand existing federal procurement and hiring initiatives. By advocating with a unified voice, we can fully realize the employment potential for adults with disabilities and we welcome you and your organization to join this effort.
Stay tuned for more information on upcoming events and efforts through our email mailing list, including updates on an information session this summer about membership.
